Campaspe Reservoir Blue Green Algae Bloom (May 2013)

Routine biological analysis of Campaspe Reservoir returned biovolume results for blue green algae above the HACCP alert limit of 0.2mm3/L. As a result Western Water ceased drinking water production from that reservoir until the bloom had ceased. The excursion was open for three months. During that time, no drinking water was produced from Campaspe Reservoir. (Western Water Annual Drinking Water Quality Report 2012/13)
